STATE HEALTH COMMISSIONER TO HELP CELEBRATE OCEAN COUNTY SENIOR HEALTH PROGRAM

TOMS RIVER - The Ocean County Office of Senior Services and the members of its HealthEASE Wellness Coalition will welcome Poonam Alaigh, Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, to its anniversary celebration scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 13.

"Since 2004, the Ocean County Office of Senior Services’ HealthEASE program has had tremendous success in helping seniors live healthy lives in Ocean County," said Freeholder Joseph H. Vicari, Chairman of Senior Services. "I am very pleased Commissioner Alaigh will be joining us to celebrate the 6th anniversary of this program and help us recognize the many participants that have made it so successful."

The 6th anniversary event will be held in the 3rd floor conference room of the Ocean County One Stop Center, Building 2 at 1027 Hooper Ave., here.

Commissioner Alaigh is expected to present a proclamation from Governor Chris Christie recognizing the efforts of the HealthEASE Wellness Coalition.

"This program has been nationally recognized," Vicari said.

In 2008 it was named a Program Champion by the United States Administration on Aging.
