TOMS RIVER - The Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders invites the public to attend the Annual German Flag Raising Ceremony honoring the 327th
anniversary of the first arrival of the first German immigrants to these shores. The ceremony is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, in front of the
Ocean County Justice Complex on Hooper Ave.
"We are proud of all the diverse groups that make Ocean County such a wonderful place to live," said Freeholder Director James F. Lacey. "German
immigrants have made many contributions to the life and culture of the United States as well as to Ocean County."
The Lakewood Maennerchor and Damenchor choruses will perform.
The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Honor Guard will be present to post the colors. The ceremony will conclude with the singing of both the
German and American National Anthems.
